UN envoy Angelina Jolie is traveling to Turkey’s border with Syria, where she is going to meet a number of the over nine,600 refugees who have fled a bloody crackdown on Syrian anti-government protesters.
The Hollywood celebrity and goodwill ambassador for the U.N. High Commissioner for Refugees is anticipated to arrive within the Turkish province of Hatay on Friday afternoon.
Turkish authorities were hanging a fifteen meter- (16 yard-) long banner close to the doorway of the camp to welcome Jolie. The banner reads: "Goodness Angel of the globe, Welcome."
In April, Jolie traveled to Tunisia throughout its refugee crisis as thousands fled from its war-torn neighbor, Libya.
